The West Rowan Falcons will square off against the Davie County War Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. West Rowan is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
West Rowan is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 22-3 margin over Concord on Friday. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Cole Blevins was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Luke Ponczka, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Preston Javidi was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
West Rowan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Saturday Davie County sidestepped Watauga for a 3-1 victory. That's two games straight that the War Eagles have won by exactly two runs.
Nic Cannon tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Davie County's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Logan Allen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. John Fisher also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
The victory got Davie County back to even at 2-2. As for West Rowan, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Davie County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: West Rowan has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .505. It's a different story for Davie County, though, as they've only averaged .347. Will they be able to contain West Rowan's hitters?
West Rowan was able to grind out a solid victory over Davie County in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, winning 11-8. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the War Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
