Roper Crane made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Delta got a massive performance out of Kash Nielson, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with five RBI, one triple, and one double. Those five RBI gave Nielson a new career-high. Kyler Davies was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-4.
The win (which was Delta's third in a row) raised their record to 7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for South Summit, their loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Delta will challenge Richfield at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Summit, they will square off against Hillcrest at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
