It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Clint Lions can now relate to. They were outmatched by West Plains on the road and fell 41-14. Clint was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-0.
When it comes to explaining why Clint lost on Thursday, one person who can't be blamed is Brock Boutwell. Despite the final result, he rushed for 89 yards on only eight carries, and also threw for 27 yards and a touchdown.
Leading West Plains to victory were REID MACON and JORDI HERNANDEZ. MACON threw for 187 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes, while HERNANDEZ rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. HERNANDEZ has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of KING TALLANT, who gained 82 total yards and a touchdown.
This is the second loss in a row for Clint and nudges their season record down to 4-7. As for West Plains, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Clint does not have any more games scheduled as of now. West Plains will be staying on the road on November 17th to face off against Graham at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Graham is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
