The Hicksville Aces will head out on the road to square off against the Lincolnview Lancers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hicksville is hoping to put an end to a 12-game streak of away losses.
Hicksville won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 50-20 loss at the hands of Ayersville. While losing is never fun, Hicksville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 720th, while Ayersville is ranked 75th).
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Hicksville struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Lincolnview ended up a good deal behind Columbus Grove on Thursday and lost 44-30. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lincolnview has scored all season.
Hicksville's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Lincolnview, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
Hicksville came up short against Lincolnview in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 59-50. Can Hicksville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
