The MacArthur Generals will take on the Benjamin Davis Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
MacArthur lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Dekaney, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. The Generals' pitchers stepped up to hand the Wildcats a 9-0 shutout on Friday. The Generals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.
Jai Cantu made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Jorge Moreno was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kameron Mott, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Benjamin Davis, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Westfield 7-6 on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
John Ureste and Jeovanni Isidoro did most of the damage at the plate: Ureste went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Isidoro went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that Ureste has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesus Sanchez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Benjamin Davis lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Benjamin Davis' victory bumped their record up to 8-17. As for MacArthur, their win bumped their record up to 15-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. MacArthur has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Benjamin Davis struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
MacArthur skirted past Benjamin Davis 4-3 in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Do the Generals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
