The Apopka Christian Academy Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Innovation Montessori Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Apopka Christian Academy couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 59-30 defeat at the hands of Saints Academy School on December 1st.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Innovation Montessori, who are still winless after their ninth contest. They suffered a tough 56-33 loss at the hands of Trinity Christian Academy on Friday. The match was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Innovation Montessori struggled afterwards.
Despite their loss, Innovation Montessori saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Owen Lofiego, who scored seven points along with three steals, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Tariq Imran, who scored seven points.
Apopka Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Innovation Montessori, they bumped their record down to 0-9 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
