Urban Prep-Bronzeville came out on top against Legal Prep by a score of 70-61 on Thursday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Urban Prep-Bronzeville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tristan Hunter, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Melvin Moore, who scored 17 points.
Defeat or not, Legal Prep got some senior leadership from Maurquese Washington who scored 20 points and Jamal Craig who scored 18 points. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Winfield, who scored nine points.
Urban Prep-Bronzeville's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.6 points per game. As for Legal Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.
