The Tomball Cougars are taking a road trip to square off against the Klein Cain Hurricanes at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Tomball is coming into the game hot, having won their last 14 games.
While Tomball's win against Magnolia wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars skirted past the Bulldogs 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since February 24th.

Regina Amaya spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Aubrey Murillo, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Macey Frank, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Klein Cain). They put the hurt on Klein Collins with a sharp 17-6 win on Friday. The game was the first time the Hurricanes have beaten the Tigers on their field since April 12, 2022.
Amia Shead made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Shead was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Trinity Prevost was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Milah Ramirez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Klein Cain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Klein Collins only posted an OBP of .348.
Tomball's record is now 21-3. As for Klein Cain, their record now sits at 11-15.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Tomball hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. However, it's not like Klein Cain struggles in that department as they've averaged .322. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Tomball's way against Klein Cain when the teams last played back in March, as Tomball made off with a 10-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
