Meridian has been on the road for five straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Osceola Bulldogs at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Meridian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 69th).
Meridian lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They were dealt a 66-36 defeat at the hands of High Plains. Meridian has struggled against the Storm recently, as their match on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Osceola entered their tilt with the Eagles with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Osceola came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 53-41 on Tuesday.
Kale Gustafson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it 16 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Osceola's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelby Neujahr, who scored 12 points.
Meridian dropped their record down to 4-11 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Osceola, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
