Eupora has been on the road for four straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Bruce Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Thursday, Eupora took a serious blow against Hamilton, falling 75-39. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Eupora has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Bruce was beaten by South Pontotoc 71-39 on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bruce in their matchups with South Pontotoc: they've now lost four in a row.
Bruce's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jay Cole Williams, who scored nine points along with four steals, and Kobe Hooper who scored 15 points. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him.
Bruce struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Eupora now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Bruce, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Eupora suffered a grim 68-48 defeat to Bruce in their previous meeting back in November. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Bruce's Ashton Pierce, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Now that Eupora knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
