The Laughlin Cougars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They walked away with a 54-46 win over Adelson. The win made it back-to-back wins for Laughlin.
Laughlin found their leader in underclassman Valeria Quintero, who scored 24 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Alexandra Arellano, who scored nine points.
Laughlin's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Adelson, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-12.
Laughlin will challenge the Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nevada (Awaken Christian is ranked 70th, while the Cougars are ranked 84th). Adelson will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Centurions at 5:30 p.m. on February 7th.
