Baseball Recap: Flowers Sets Scoring Season-High Against Laurel

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Flowers). They blew past the Laurel Spartans 30-8 on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Jaguars considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Jonathan Davis was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Marcus Richardson, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3.

Flowers is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Laurel, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Flowers will square off against rival Northwestern at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Laurel is set to challenge their familiar foe DuVal on Saturday.
