Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hartsburg-Emden). They enjoyed a cozy 71-56 victory over the DeLand-Weldon Eagles on Thursday. The win was some much needed relief for the Stags as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.
Carson Zinser had an outrageously good game as he went 11-for-23 on his way to 28 points and eight steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Peyton Swinford, who went 7-for-12 en route to 17 points and six boards.
The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-20. As for DeLand-Weldon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-20.
Hartsburg-Emden wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 63-36 win against Greenview on the 14th. As for DeLand-Weldon, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-45 defeat against Judah Christian on the 15th.
