With a playoff game on the line, the St. Johns Country Day Spartans rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Eagles as they made off with a 68-45 victory. St. Johns Country Day has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matches by 20 points or more this season.
St. Johns Country Day found their leader in underclassman Elliot Graham, who went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Graham has scored all season. Grayson Moody was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Jackson Hadden and Conner Whitaker certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Hadden dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds, while Whitaker scored 18 points. That was a full 44.4% of Christ's Church Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Barrier, who scored six points.
The win was the 14th in a row for St. Johns Country Day, bringing their record for this year to 21-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.8 points per game. As for Christ's Church Academy, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which is still a better percentage than their 6-19 record this season.
