If Citrus wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Crystal River, they should've done a better job of containing Keyrra Ruiz. The Crystal River Pirates walked away with a 50-38 win over the Citrus Hurricanes on Tuesday thanks in part to Ruiz, who posted 27 points. Those 27 points gave her a new career-high.

Another player making a difference was Calea Whitelow, who earned six points and seven rebounds. She also posted an assist, marking her first of the season.

When it comes to explaining why Citrus lost, don't look at Kendyl Hunnicutt. Despite the final result, she scored seven points along with 15 boards and three steals. Demi Williamson was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

Crystal River moved to 7-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Citrus, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Crystal River has already played their next contest, a 74-41 loss against Lecanto on the 23rd. As for Citrus, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 48-16 win against Ocala Christian on the 23rd.
