2A-1 Region IV District 13 recap September 24, 2013
Little River Academy scaled the state rankings by moving to 475 from 632 this week, the biggest jump in 2A-1 Region IV District 13. The Bumblebees climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Jarrell 36-16.
Little River Academy led the league in scoring this week after putting up 36 points on the Cougars.
Salado's McLane Carter and Kase Spears have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Carter has thrown for 1,068 yards this season, while Spears has 20 catches for 350 yards. Cameron Yoe's Traion Smith leads the league in rushing yards with 495.
One of 2A-1 Region IV District 13's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when the Eagles and the Yoemen face off next week.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Michael Nichols' team takes on McGregor. At the moment, the Bumblebees are in fourth, while the Bulldogs are in first.
The league will see a high scoring game when Cameron Yoe and Salado face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Rick Rhoades' team comes in having scored 135 this season, while Brent Graham's team has scored 116.
Little River Academy made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,546 from 6,426. The advance stemmed from a 36-16 victory over Jarrell last week.
