Nonnewaug is a perfect 10-0 against Terryville since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Chiefs will venture away from home to take on the Kangaroos at 3:45 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Nonnewaug has 17 straight victories, Terryville has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Saturday, Nonnewaug made easy work of Shepaug Valley and carried off a 15-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Chiefs, who have now won 14 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.
Scarlett Ivey made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Those two doubles gave Blum a new career-high. Gianna DeLorenzo was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
Nonnewaug kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Terryville's offense. They came up short against Thomaston on Wednesday, falling 19-0.
Terryville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Nonnewaug, their victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-0.
Nonnewaug took their win against Terryville in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 27-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chiefs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
