The Luling Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Dilley at home to the tune of 84-49. That's another feather in the cap for Luling, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
It was another big night for Jaime Gomez, who shot 8-for-14 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 40 points and 12 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Luling's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Flores, who scored 20 points along with four steals.
Luling's victory bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Dilley, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.
Luling will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cole at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. As for Dilley, they will be playing at home against South San Antonio West at 1:15 p.m. on Friday. South San Antonio West is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
