Kennedale put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 70-0 win over Diamond Hill-Jarvis on the road. Given Kennedale's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 504th, while Diamond Hill-Jarvis is ranked 1171st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kennedale's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aaron Coles, who rushed for 49 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Laurrence Watkins, who rushed for 44 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 49-21, which was the final score in Western Hills' tilt against Lake Worth on Thursday. Western Hills was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-0.
Western Hills' loss came about despite a quality game from Kyu Wilson, who threw for 114 yards and three touchdowns.
Kennedale's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-8 Diamond Hill-Jarvis and 2-6 Castleberry (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 35% over those games). As for Western Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
