After flying high against Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family last Saturday, the Pender Pendragons came back down to earth. Pender ended up on the wrong side of a tough 62-42 walloping at the hands of Guardian Angels Central Catholic on Tuesday. Pender has not had much luck with Guardian Angels Central Catholic recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Aiden Beckman and Alex Roth certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Beckman scored 14 points along with six assists and five rebounds, while Roth scored 15 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Krueger, who scored four points.
Pender's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-5. As for Guardian Angels Central Catholic, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pender will take on Homer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pender is coming into the contest with four straight defeats on the road, meaning Homer will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Guardian Angels Central Catholic, they will face off against Pierce on Thursday.
