Baseball Recap: Dunlap Wins Going Away Against Pekin

Dunlap never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Pekin Dragons. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Eli Michanicou was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Michanicou was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Christian Ferrari was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. He also put up a home run, which was his first of the season. Davis Weeks was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.

Dunlap is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Pekin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Dunlap will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Dragons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
