Hudson hasn't had much luck against Mitchell recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Hudson Cobras will welcome the Mitchell Mustangs at 8:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Last Thursday, Hudson got the win against Fivay by a conclusive 13-2. The victory continues a trend for the Cobras in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won six in a row.
Miley Clarke and Bella Veraldi did most of the damage at the plate: Clarke went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Veraldi went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI Veraldi has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Audree Osborn, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
Hudson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fivay only posted an OBP of .364.
Meanwhile, Mitchell put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Gulf 14-1. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by nine runs or more this season.
Savannah Toukatly was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Toukatly was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Taylor Tucker was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those doubles were her first of the season. MacKenzie Tucker was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.
Hudson's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Mitchell, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Hudson has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Mitchell struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 1.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hudson might still be hurting after the 9-1 loss they got from Mitchell in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Will Hudson have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
