Pope John Paul II has struggled against Northwest Yeshiva recently, as their match on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Northwest Yeshiva's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joe Benoliel, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Benoliel has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Weichbrodt, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Pope John Paul II's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-11. As for Northwest Yeshiva, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7.
Pope John Paul II will take on Evergreen Lutheran at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Northwest Yeshiva, they will head out on the road to square off against Auburn Adventist at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Auburn Adventist focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Wednesday.
