Onaga is 1-9 against the Rams since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Onaga Buffaloes will be playing at home against the Blue Valley Rams at 7:30 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Onaga has struggled recently with seven losses in a row, while the Rams will arrive with four straight victories.
Onaga struggled with offensive rebounds on Monday (the Wildcats had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Onaga was beaten by the Wildcats 66-38. While losing is never fun, Onaga can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while the Wildcats are ranked 96th).
Onaga's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Casen Hutfles, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, and Konnor Nider who scored 13 points along with three steals. That was a full 34.2% of Onaga's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Blue Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over the Wildcats on Tuesday, taking the game 59-48.
Onaga dropped their record down to 1-12 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Blue Valley, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
