After losing to the Classical Magnet Gladiators the last time they met, the Academy of Science and Innovation Ravens decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Academy of Science and Innovation blew past Classical Magnet 62-39. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-18.
Academy of Science and Innovation was led to victory by Symber Ortiz-Sutton and Maiara Rodriguez. Ortiz-Sutton dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds, while Rodriguez dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Saldana, who scored 12 points along with six assists and four steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Academy of Science and Innovation and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Classical Magnet, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Academy of Science and Innovation will challenge Metropolitan Learning Center at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Classical Magnet, they will head out on the road to face off against Achievement First at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
