Theodore has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Saraland Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Theodore posted their biggest win since December 1, 2023 on Friday. They claimed a resounding 67-40 win over Baker at home. Given Theodore's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Baker is ranked 316th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jazmyn Bigham was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. She also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Parklyn Floyd, who scored 16 points along with seven steals and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, everything went Saraland's way against Mobile Christian on Tuesday as Saraland made off with a 48-24 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Saraland.
Saraland's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Shakira Williams, who scored 11 points, and Elle Roberts, who scored 14 points.
Theodore pushed their record up to 14-11 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Saraland, their victory bumped their record up to 12-13.
Theodore took their win against Saraland when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 50-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for Theodore since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
