Our look at high school basketball's best from the 2022-23 season continues with the MaxPreps Junior All-America Team, highlighted by National Junior of the Year
Tre Johnson of
Lake Highlands (Dallas, Texas).
Johnson, a 6-foot-5 guard, averaged 21.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.7
assists for the No. 8-ranked team in the MaxPreps Top 25. Johnson led the Wildcats to the title in the Lone Star State's highest classification this season and dropped a game-high 29 points in the championship game.

Selections are based on team success, individual production and local, regional and state honors from the recently-completed season. Potential at the college and professional level is not a primary consideration. Players in post-graduate and non-scholastic programs are not eligible for inclusion.

Regarded as the No. 6 prospect in the Class of 2024, Bailey averaged 22
points, 14 rebounds, four blocks and three assists per game to help the
Indians (23-7) reach the Class AAAAAAA state quarterfinals.
6-9 | Center | Undecided
Averaged 20.2 points, 13.8 rebounds and 4.5 blocks while shooting 81
percent from the field to help the Wildkats (24-5) reach the state title
game for the first time since 1989. Recorded 27 double-doubles in 29
games this season.
6-6 | Wing | Undecided
Top 10 prospect averaged 26.0 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists to navigate the Vikings (29-3) to the Class 4A state semifinals. Evans exploded for a career-high 62 points in the state semifinals, passing Chris Paul's 61 points for sixth most points in a game in NCHSAA history.
6-4 | Guard | Undecided
Regarded as a top five prospect in the Class of 2024, Harper averaged
24.9 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals to guide the
Ironmen to a 26-3 record. Harper led Don Bosco Prep to the John Wall
Holiday Invitational title with an upset victory over No. 11 Centennial
(Corona, Calif.) in the semifinals paced by 28 points and seven rebounds
from the star junior.
MAXPREPS NATIONAL JUNIOR OF THE YEAR
6-5 | Guard | Undecided
Top-ranked junior prospect averaged 21.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.7
assists on 53 percent from the field, 42 percent from 3-point range and
91 percent from the free throw line. Led the Wildcats (34-3) to the
Class 6A state title and a top 10 national ranking. Johnson surpassed
2,000 career points this season.
Second Team
6-1 | Guard | North Carolina
Future Tar Heel averaged 10.9 points, 7.6 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game this season for the top-ranked team in the National Top 10. Cadeau broke the record for assists in a single game (14) and assists in a tournament (29) to lead the Lions (27-1) to the GEICO Nationals title.
MaxPreps New York Player of the Year averaged 15.5 points, 5.0 rebounds,
2.3 assists and 2.2 steals to help guide the Crusaders (22-2) to the
No. 3 spot in the MaxPreps Top 25. Edgecombe was named MVP of the NIBC
after leading the conference in scoring this season.
6-4 | Guard | North Carolina
Top five Class of 2024 prospect averaged 24 points, seven rebounds and five assists per game to lead the Cardinals to the CHSAA Class AA title game.
6-7 | Forward | Undecided
Led
the No. 2-ranked team in the National Top 10 in scoring, averaging 12.4
points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists while playing a team-high 19.2
minutes per contest for the Eagles (23-3).

Led the Hornets (25-7) to the Class 7A state quarterfinals after averaging 35.0 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.6 steals per game
while shooting 52 percent from the field, 34 percent from 3-point range
and 82 percent from the free throw line. He scored a career-high 51
points in November.

Philadelphia Catholic League MVP honors after averaging 24.8 points,
7.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists in conference play this season. Bethea led
the Vikings (19-9) to the Class 6A state semifinals.

MaxPreps Washington Player of the Year averaged 20 points, 5.5 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game to lead the Vikings (28-3) to their second consecutive Class 4A state championship.
Led the Crusaders (22-10) to the Federation Class AA state title game, averaging 17.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.0 steals against a grueling national schedule this season.
Top 100 prospect averaged 32.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 4.7 steals to guide the Lyons (31-6) to the state quarterfinals. Perry broke the career scoring record in Kentucky at the state
tournament, surpassing Kelly Coleman's total of 4,337 set from
1953-1956. He currently sits at 4,359 career points.

League MVP averaged 15 points, seven rebounds and six assists per
contests to help the Wolverines (33-2) reach the top 10 in the MaxPreps
Top 25. Perry was the catalyst in their Open Division state title game
victory with 16 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds.

One of four players to average double-digits scoring in a balanced offense, Boswell averaged 12.0 points, 5.3 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals to help the Mustangs (28-4) capture the Class 4A title.

The impact of the five-star guard was evident for the Trailblazers as they went 2-6 without their best player during a crucial stretch late in the season. Elohim averaged 14.4 points and 3.5 rebounds on the season.

Quickly-rising Class of 2024 prospect averaged 18.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game to guide the Chargers (28-3) to an appearance in the Class 3A state title game.
The talented post presence had an up-and-down season for the No. 2-ranked team in the National Top 10, averaging 11.8 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists. Queen pumped in a season-high 34 points in a win over Sunrise Christian Academy mid-way through the season.
Well-rounded big man filled the stat-sheet with averages of 17.8 points, 11.2 rebounds, 4.2 blocks and 2.5 assists per game to help the Raiders (17-11) reach the Class 5A state semifinals.
