Beech is a perfect 10-0 against Hendersonville since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Buccaneers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Commandos at 5:00 p.m.
Beech made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Greenbrier, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Buccaneers fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 3-1 on Friday. The Buccaneers haven't had much luck with the Bobcats recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, Hendersonville never let their opponents score on Saturday. They blew past Floyd Central 10-0. Considering the Commandos have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Bristol Stiles was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Hendersonville got a massive performance out of Katelyn Wenzel, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave Wenzel a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madelyn (Maddie) McCord, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.
Hendersonville hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in 15 consecutive matchups.
Hendersonville has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Beech, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Everything went Beech's way against Hendersonville in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Beech made off with a 9-2 win. Will the Buccaneers repeat their success, or do the Commandos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
