This season hasn't been kind to the Sacred Heart Gremlins, who are still winless after their eighth contest. They took a serious blow against Sweet Springs on Saturday, falling 50-16. Sacred Heart was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sweet Springs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Several Gremlins players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Paisley Carl, who scored seven points.
Sacred Heart bumped their record down to 0-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Sweet Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sacred Heart will be home for the holidays to greet Leeton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Leeton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sacred Heart in Missouri (Leeton is ranked 189th, while Sacred Heart is ranked 505th). Sweet Springs will be home for the holidays to greet North Platte at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. North Platte will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
