It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Episcopal Knights had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past King Charter 50-6 at home. Considering Episcopal has won six matchups by more than 31 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Braeden George had a dynamite game for Episcopal, rushing for 192 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per carry. George was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 69 yards. Another player making a difference was Reid Chauvin, who rushed for 140 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.2 yards per carry.
The win (which was Episcopal's fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-4. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-8 Northeast and 4-6 King Charter (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 38.6% over those games). As for King Charter, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Episcopal will face off against Bunkie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bunkie is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. King Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
