The Argo Argonauts''s three-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Thornton Fractional South and snuck past 17-14. The victory was just what Argo needed coming off of a 33-7 loss in their prior game.
Despite the loss, Thornton Fractional South had strong showings from Seneca Smith, who rushed for 58 yards and two touchdowns, and Tailen Gosa, who rushed for 65 yards. Gosa is on a roll when it comes to solo tackles, as he's now made six or more in the last four games he's played.
Argo now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Thornton Fractional South, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
Argo will head out on the road to face off against Normal Community at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Normal Community knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Argo likes a good challenge. Thornton Fractional South does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
