Baseball Recap: Thursday's Loss Ends Luther's Winning Streak

Luther fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Tecumseh on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Savages by a score of 5-4. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Bray Mussyal put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Mussyal wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Esteban C, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Another was Brody Becker, who scored a run while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.

Luther's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Tecumseh, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-7 record.

Luther has already played their next game, a 5-1 win against McLoud on the 27th. As for Tecumseh, they will take on Pauls Valley at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Tecumseh is facing Pauls Valley at the right time seeing as Pauls Valley is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
