The East Hampton Bellringers lost against the Brookfield Bobcats back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. East Hampton fell 64-53 to Brookfield. While losing is never fun, East Hampton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Brookfield is ranked 22nd).
It was another big night for Shane Weber, who scored 29 points along with seven assists and six rebounds for Brookfield. That makes it five consecutive games in which Weber has scored at least 25% of Brookfield's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Longworth, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
East Hampton's defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-3. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Brookfield, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
East Hampton won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Litchfield at 4:30 p.m. on December 28th. Brookfield won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Thomaston at 6:00 p.m. on December 28th.
