The Mohawk Area Warriors are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will  challenge  the Laurel Spartans  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one:  the two teams posted some lofty  run totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Mohawk Area made easy work of Mars  and carried off  a  12-2 victory.
Mohawk Area got a  massive  performance out of  Addy Moskal, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  home run and two  runs. The team also got some help courtesy of  Mylie Pistorius, who  went 1-for-3 with one  home run and four  RBI.
 Moskal wasn't the only one working in the  home run department: Mohawk Area  lost a few balls and  finished the game with two  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Laurel earned  a  14-10 win over New Castle  on Friday.
  Hailey Fell was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three  runs, three  doubles,  and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Hayden Seifert, who  went 3-for-5 with one  home run and three  RBI.
 Mohawk Area now  has a winning record of 2-1. As for Laurel, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Mohawk Area has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 8  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Laurel struggles in that department as   they've been averaging  an even more impressive 9.3  strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
 Mohawk Area came up short against Laurel when the teams last played  back in April of 2024, falling  6-3. Can Mohawk Area avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
