The Bryan Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Gretna East Griffins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Bryan has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 55-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Westview.
Despite their loss, Bryan saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. A'mare Bynum, who scored 17 points, was perhaps the best of all. That was a full 34.7% of Bryan's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Rylan Rodriguez, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Gretna East's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their seventh straight defeat. They took a 63-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lincoln High.
Bryan has not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-7 record this season. As for Gretna East, their loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-14.
