The Spring Creek Spartans will be playing at home against the Lowry Buckaroos at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Spring Creek has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 48-47 to Elko.
Darren Bylund put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 21 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tayden Francis, who scored 12 points.
Spring Creek struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Lowry's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 66-33 loss at the hands of Fernley. Lowry has not had much luck with Fernley recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Spring Creek's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-5. As for Lowry, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.
Spring Creek took their victory against Lowry in their previous matchup on January 4th by a conclusive 62-39. Does Spring Creek have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lowry turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
