If the Calvary Christian Spartans were riding high off their 62-16 takedown of the Christian Academy Eagles last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Calvary Christian fell just short of Temple Christian by a score of 46-43. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Calvary Christian has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Calvary Christian lost on Saturday, one person who can't be blamed is Philip Davie. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Davie continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Schlatter, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Calvary Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Temple Christian, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calvary Christian will take on Spring Valley Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Spring Valley Academy will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line. As for Temple Christian, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Elgin at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th.
