Prescott is 0-10 against the Eagles since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Prescott Badgers will be staying on the road to face off against the Flagstaff Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Mingus typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Prescott proved too difficult a challenge. They strolled past the Marauders with points to spare, taking the game 70-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Prescott relied on the efforts of Bella Abt, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds, and Addie Prisciandaro, who scored 34 points along with four steals. Abt hasn't dropped below two steals for 13 straight games. Another player making a difference was Rylee Hobson, who scored seven points along with eight assists.
Meanwhile, Flagstaff came tearing into Tuesday's contest with 13 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Coconino, posting a 57-29 victory on the road. Flagstaff has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matchups by 28 points or more this season.
Prescott is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. As for Flagstaff, their win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-4.
Prescott took a serious blow against the Eagles when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 74-42. Can Prescott avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
