Baseball Recap: Eaton Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

Eaton won the last time they faced Valley and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Reds put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 16-3 victory. Considering the Reds have won seven games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Shane Welle made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Welle was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. Those triples marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other pitching news, Austin Edelmon looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

Back at the plate, Malaki Dalpra was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Everett Edinger, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

Eaton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valley only posted an OBP of .375.

Eaton is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Eaton will face off against rival Platte Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Valley is set to challenge their familiar foe Sterling at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
