After both having extra time off, the Siloam Springs Panthers and the Dover Pirates will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 3:30 p.m. on December 27th. Siloam Springs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arkansas Rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while Dover is ranked 27th).
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 42-13, which was the final score in Siloam Springs' tilt against Gentry two weeks ago. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Siloam Springs has scored all season.
Dover has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 28 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 67-34 victory over Central Arkansas Christian at home.
Dover's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Logan Young led the charge by scoring 14 points along with five rebounds. The match was Young's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Carley Nantze was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Siloam Springs now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Dover, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
Everything went Siloam Springs' way against Dover when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as Siloam Springs made off with a 60-34 win. Does Siloam Springs have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dover turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
