The Pine Lake Prep Pride are taking a road trip to challenge the Forbush Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Pine Lake Prep made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Christ the King, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Pine Lake Prep blew past Christ the King 7-1 on Tuesday. The win was just business as usual for the Pride, who after three games remain undefeated this season.
Alec Brown was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Brown was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3.
In other pitching news, Jeter Bynum tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Dylan Brandt, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Grant Ingram was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Forbush). They were the clear victor by a 19-9 margin over Starmount on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won seven in a row.
Like Pine Lake Prep, Forbush also got a great game from a two-way player: Aaron Hutchens. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. That's the fewest hits Hutchens has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.
In other batting news, Bo Moxley was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Moxley, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3.
Forbush always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Forbush pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 14.3 runs. As for Pine Lake Prep, their record now sits at 3-0.
Wednesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Pine Lake Prep has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .433. However, it's not like Forbush struggles in that department as they've averaged .566. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
