The Cartersville Hurricanes's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Jenkins Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on November 24th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Cartersville had no problem doing just that on Friday. They strolled past Eastside with points to spare, taking the game 28-9.
Khristian Lando got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 148 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Jenkins slipped by Dutchtown 28-27 on Friday. That's two games straight that Jenkins has won by exactly a single point.
Jenkins can attribute much of their success to Sylvester Harris, who rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and Jayaun Albert, who rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries.
Cartersville's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.4 points per game. As for Jenkins, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Cartersville has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 189.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Jenkins struggles in that department as they've been averaging 175.7 per game. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.
