Everything went their way against the David Thibodaux Bulldogs on Friday as Rayne made off with a 20-1 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Cooper Letchworth was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jude-Mikal Dupont, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Letchworth wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Rayne kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Rayne is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. Looking ahead, Rayne and Jennings will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rayne is facing Jennings at the right time seeing as Jennings is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for David Thibodaux, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Houma Christian at 4:00 p.m. on April 8.
