DeSoto County has gone 9-1 against Hardee recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The DeSoto County Bulldogs will look to defend their home court against the Hardee Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. DeSoto County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.3 points per game this season.
DeSoto County's tournament run continued when they took on Bradenton Christian on Friday. DeSoto County came out on top against Bradenton Christian by a score of 55-43. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.
Yahri Tyler continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 10 for 18 on her way to 27 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of DeSoto County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cherish Wiggins, who posted ten points along with eight assists and eight boards.
DeSoto County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 11 consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Hardee entered their tilt with Northeast back in December of 2024 with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Vikings 53-28. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 25 points or more this season.
Hardee's win came from a few key players DeSoto County will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tylia Graham, who went 13 of 22 on her way to 26 points in addition to seven steals and six boards. Those 26 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexandra Jackson, who almost dropped a triple-double on 14 points, 15 boards, and nine steals.
The win got Hardee back to even at 4-4. As for DeSoto County, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: DeSoto County has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 35.6 boards per game. However, it's not like Hardee struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35.5 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
