Last Tuesday, Lowry faced Pyramid Lake in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Lowry enjoyed a cozy 56-41 victory over Pyramid Lake.
Lowry relied on the efforts of Britain Backus, who scored 24 points along with eight steals and five rebounds, and Savannah Stoker, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Backus has scored at least 25% of Lowry's points. Another player making a difference was Autum Sanchez, who scored four points.
North Valleys has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 24 points or more this season. They blew past Coleville 72-28 at home. The win was nothing new for North Valleys as they're now sitting on five straight.
Lowry's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for North Valleys, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2.
Everything went Lowry's way against North Valleys when the teams last played back in February as Lowry made off with a 74-52 victory. Will Lowry repeat their success, or does North Valleys have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
