Chapman dropped their record down to 9-7 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Riley County Falcons, falling 12-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Irish have suffered against the Falcons since March 31, 2022.

Chapman saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Talon Landreville, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

As for Riley County, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win they have posted against Chapman since April 1, 2021.

On Riley County's side, Eli Harmison was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Harmison was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Brett Hopper was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Aiden Thompson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Looking ahead, Chapman will challenge Council Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Riley County, they will welcome Abilene on Tuesday. The Cowboys will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight.
