Petal (Miss.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as
Larson Barkurn thew a touchdown to
Jamarcus Revies with with 1:00 left in the third quarter, bringing the team to victory over
Biloxi (Miss.) 49-34.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Jaylen Woullard to
Jonathon Quarles, the Indians went into halftime with a 24-21 lead. The Panthers took the lead for good with a touchdown pass by Barkurn to Revies in the third quarter.
Petal's most effective player was
Tyus Raine. The junior running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored 12 touchdowns on the season.
Woullard made a difference for Biloxi. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored eight touchdowns on the season.
PHS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 38-27.
