The Wesclin Warriors lost against the Red Bud Musketeers back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Wesclin fell 43-33 to Red Bud. Wesclin has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Red Bud's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lyla Hess, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Emma Carter, who scored five points along with 18 rebounds.
Wesclin's defeat dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Red Bud, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-7.
Wesclin will be playing at home against Chester at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Wesclin's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while Chester has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road. As for Red Bud, they will take on Sparta at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Red Bud is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sparta in Illinois (Red Bud is ranked 239th, while Sparta is ranked 561st).
