The Cass Colonels will be playing at home against the Dalton Catamounts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Cass had just enough and edged the Yellow Jackets out 60-57.
Meanwhile, Dalton waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 66-51 win over Cartersville. That's two games straight that Dalton has won by exactly 15 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dalton to victory, but perhaps none more so than CJ Weaver, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Weaver has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Drew Snyder, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Cass' win bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Dalton, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-12 record this season.
Cass came up short against the Catamounts in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 51-41. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Dalton's Kobi Cooper, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Now that Cass knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
