The biggest upset of the week belonged to Schuylkill Haven, who took down 128th ranked North Schuylkill, 34-20.
The Hurricanes moved up to 242 from 463 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Anthracite. Schuylkill Haven climbed the ranks as a result of a 34-20 win over the Spartans.
Tamaqua's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Nate Edmonds threw for 45 yards and Dalton Nunemacher had 33 yards receiving. On the ground Tyler Hope chipped in 129 yards. Tyler Krell helped Tamaqua's passing attack out by catching one ball for 12 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Edmonds and Nunemacher the Blue Raiders have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Edmonds leads the league in passing with 354 yards, while Nunemacher has rushed for 380 yards this season. Jim Thorpe's Khaaliq Lynch leads the league in receiving yards with 181 on 11 catches.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Mike Farr's team takes on Panther Valley. As it stands, the Hurricanes are in sixth, while the Panthers are in third.
Tamaqua extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Mahanoy Area, 53-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for Sam Bonner's team.
